Living Room

We now have a good sized living room with a decent sized, wood burning fireplace in the corner of the room for ambiance. This room is designed to have a separate space for both a living room and a formal dining room.

With a breakfast nook large enough for our fully extended table, we chose to eliminate the formal dining space for now and just have a large living room.

When we moved in, Christmas was one week away. The Christmas tree was the first box I unpacked while waiting for more boxes to be brought over from the old house.
The tree was set up and completely decorated before Christmas, complete with remote controlled train to run around the tracks below.

Three weeks later, we had our house warming party and showed off the house in full Christmas decor. Then, we took the tree down and packed up all our Christmas decorations. Suddenly, I had a HUGE blank wall and empty corner that just wouldn’t work for me.
Over the next couple of months we did some window shopping to try and figure out what we could possibly do to fix that corner. We finally came up with an inexpensive, but effective shelving system that worked great for what we needed.

We have since added a lot of our Disneyland pictures, memorabilia, and photo albums to the shelves. We also put a collapsible table in front of the shelves to give us a small work space that can easily be packed away in the event of a party (or Christmas 😉 ).
